Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, American Psychiatric Association (APA) is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The APA designates this live CME activity for a maximum of 44 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The APA designates the Virtual Annual Meeting for a maximum of 44 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) CME

APA does not specifically offer AOA Category 1 osteopathic CME, but DOs that complete our AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ approved activities can self-report CME to AOA for credit. Below is information from AOA’s website on how DO CME self-reporting works.

Reporting of CME earned from an ACCME-accredited provider for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ or AAFP CME programs to the AOA is the responsibility of the physician. A certificate of attendance must be provided to Physician Education & CME at [email protected] or the activity may be submitted by using the CME Self-Reporting Tool (login required). The certificate must indicate the total number of hours attended. Transcripts from other institutions (hospitals, CME trackers, etc.) will also be accepted if it contains the total number of hours. Submissions should include the physician’s name and AOA ID number.
