On Saturday, July 8, 2023, APA’s Division of Diversity & Health Equity held its 2nd annual APA MOORE Equity in Mental Health Community Fair in partnership with Morgan State University, the largest of Maryland’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). It was a day full of sharing mental health resources, connecting and networking with family fun, free food, games, music and prizes. The event kicked off with welcome and opening remarks from Dr. Regina James, APA Deputy Medical Director and Chief of Diversity and Health Equity, Baltimore City District 46 Delegate Robbyn T. Lewis, and APA MOORE Equity In Mental Health Grand Marshal, Jay Barnett.

Forty mental health and social services organizations tabled at the event. Community members were able to participate in various facilitated workshops, such as stress management, guided mediation, and chair yoga. The fair also offered free ten-minute chair massages, a children’s reading corner, and a book reading.
