Join us in combating mental health inequities facing young people of color and in honoring mental health advocate Bebe Moore Campbell. Your time and dollars can help make a difference for young people of color facing mental health challenges and the impact of systemic racism. Funds raised benefit the APA Foundation Moore Equity in Mental Health Community Grants Program, which supports community organizations that have undertaken innovative awareness programs and/or have provided services to improve the mental health of young people of color.

This year's race will tentatively take place at Wheaton Regional Park in Wheaton, Maryland, and we welcome runners from across the country to participate virtually by running in their home communities.

In 2022, we raised more than $100,000 benefitting APAF's MOORE Equity in Mental Health Community Grants Program. Help us surpass that goal this year by fundraising and donating as part of the 2023 race!

Bebe Moore Campbell & the Award for Moore Equity in Mental Health

Bebe Moore Campbell was a mental health equity champion and a New York Times bestselling author who tirelessly worked to bring public awareness to minority mental health. Her work was inspired from her personal experiences with a family member. APA strives to continue her visionary work through this annual event to benefit a newly established award, named after Campbell.

The Moore Equity in Mental Health Community Grants Program was established in 2021 by APA's Division of Diversity and Health Equity in partnership with the APA Foundation. The initiative supports individuals and community organizations that have undertaken innovative awareness programs and/or have provided services to improve the mental health of young people of color.
