Be a Mentor for Fellows

The APA Foundation (APAF) is seeking mentors to participate in the Mentorship Program for APAF Fellows. As a prospective mentor, you can make a difference for Fellows in many ways, including:

  • Providing guidance and counsel as Fellows transition from Resident Fellow Member to ECP
  • Offering insight on navigating career, professional goals, and work/life balance
  • Seeking leadership opportunities at the local and national level
  • Promoting continued active involvement in the APA

The time commitment for the program is one year, with a minimum of four interactions with your selected mentee. For detailed information, please read the Mentorship Program guidelines. If you are interested in this opportunity, please register as a prospective mentor by following the instructions below. Mentors and mentees are usually matched in the summer.

To register as a prospective mentor:

  • Go to apply.psychiatry.org.
  • Click on the Register button to create a user account.
  • Login by entering your email address and password.
  • Select Mentorship Program in the Program dropdown and Mentor Registration in the Application dropdown.
  • Click on the Create button.
  • Follow the instructions provided to fill out the form.
  • Upload your CV.
