Telepsychiatry Legal and Regulatory Considerations during COVID-19

Dr. Shabana Khan, a member of APA's Committee on Telepsychiatry as well as AACAP's Committee on Telepsychiatry, provides an overview of the legal and regulatory considerations for practicing telepsychiatry in light of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Declaration (PHE).

Topics covered during this video include: licensure considerations; the electronic prescribing of controlled substances and the Ryan Haight Act; and other regulatory practice considerations when practicing telepsychiatry for as long as the Department of Health and Human Services' PHE Declaration remains in effect.
