How Overflow Sessions Work at the Annual Meeting

  • May 17, 2025

Popular sessions can fill to capacity at the Annual Meeting. When this happens, your selected session will likely broadcast audio and slides to the overflow theater.

All overflow sessions will stream to West Hall B of the Los Angeles Convention Center.

You’ll listen to the presentation audio through your personal smartphone device while watching the slides on the large screen in the overflow theater.

Find out which sessions are currently available in the venue’s overflow rooms by viewing the alerts on the home screen in the APA Meetings App. APA will also update session listings in the App, but you must be connected to WiFi to receive the data updates to session listings.

If your chosen session has reached capacity, please follow staff directions to the Overflow Theater in West Hall B.

Outside the doors of the theater, you will find electronic signs where you can scan a QR code on your phone or mobile device to access the audio of any session currently available in the overflow theater.

Once you have connected to your session of choice, please proceed into the theater, and choose any seat. You will be able to listen to the presentation on your device and watch on the screens at the front of the room.

For the best experience and as a courtesy to others in the theater, please wear headphones while watching presentations in the overflow theater. Headphones will be available for purchase at the Education Center in the West Lobby Foyer.
