Draft Guideline on the Treatment of Patients with Borderline Personality Disorder

APA’s Committee on Practice Guidelines invites review and comment on the draft Practice Guideline for the Treatment of Patients with Borderline Personality Disorder.

The deadline to comment is June 23, 2023.

The draft guideline was developed following the APA guideline development process and was drafted based on a systematic review of the available evidence conducted by RTI International. Guideline statements are based on the balance of possible benefits and harms of the recommended actions as discussed in the text. Additionally, the draft guideline includes strategies and caveats when implementing the statements, a review of available evidence, areas for future research, and a discussion of the appropriateness of the guideline statements to inform quality improvement activities.
