Aspiring Psychiatrist Program (APP)

a APP participant attends a program lecture

The APA Workforce Development Initiative's newest program, the Aspiring Psychiatry Program, partners with organizations around the United States to provide their high school aged cohorts with career exposure to psychiatry. Our 2025 partners include Washington D.C.’s Marion Barry Youth Leadership Institute, George Washington University’s D.C. Health and Academic Prep Program (DCHAPP), and St. Vincent’s HeartShare Human Services of New York’s Youth Development and Community Program. For 2026, we are excited to explore new partnership opportunities with different organizations to expand our reach. If you are interested in partnering with our organization, please reach out to the email listed below.
