Research Mentorship Award

The Research Mentorship Award, established in 1976, honors an academic psychiatrist who has fostered the pursuit of student research within his/her university department through direct mentorship of individual students or by the promotion of novel research-oriented training activities.

Criteria/Eligibility:

  • Academic psychiatrist (any academic level)
  • APA member
  • Substantial experience in the direct mentorship of individual students
  • Promotion of novel research-oriented training activities within a department or residency program

Nomination Requirements:

  • Only one nomination from any department
  • Letter of nomination
  • Nominee’s CV
  • List of the nominee’s proteges
