Biography
David Marulanda, M.D. is a second-year Psychiatry resident at Tower Health Reading Hospital, West Reading, Pennsylvania. He earned his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine (DUCOM). He is currently involved with several committees at Reading Hospital and within the residency program.
While at DUCOM, Dr. Marulanda held several leadership positions. Most notably he served as the local chapter president of the Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA), advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion within medical education. He helped found and served as the president of the local chapter of Students for a National Health Program (SNaHP). He served on the boards of various other student groups as well.
Dr. Marulanda held national leadership as the LMSA National Conference Chair for the 2022 and 2023 conferences. Since then, he has been working with pre-medical students and medical students through teaching and mentoring.
In addition to his clinical and leadership roles, Dr. Marulanda has a passion for the arts. He served as Editor-in-Chief and Lead Literary Editor of The Tincture, DUCOM’s student literary and arts magazine, among other editorial roles prior to that.
