APA Summer Advocacy Kick-Off: The Importance of Storytelling

Join APA’s Department of Advocacy, Practice, and Policy Advancement and guest speaker Holly Amaya on June 25 from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. ET for the Importance of Storytelling in Advocacy webinar.

This session kicks off APA’s summer advocacy campaign and will highlight the association’s advocacy priorities and opportunities for member engagement. Participants will learn how to advocate for their practices and patients during the August congressional recess, with a particular focus on using storytelling as a powerful and memorable tool to influence policymakers.

Discover how sharing your personal experiences can educate lawmakers, build meaningful connections, and help generate support for key legislative priorities. A compelling story can develop connection, create emotional understanding, and shape legislators’ perspectives in ways that facts and data alone often cannot.

Guest speaker Holly Amaya brings extensive experience spanning journalism, law, and public relations. Throughout her career, she has worked for Harper’s Bazaar, The Arizona Republic, a U.S. senator, and served as general counsel for an international retail services provider.

As a public relations consultant, Holly has led media campaigns for some of the world’s largest companies and is a highly sought-after crisis manager, media trainer, branding expert, and communications coach.
