Justin Singh Joins American Psychiatric Association as Senior Vice President, Operations, Finance, and Transformation
Washington, D.C. — Today the American Psychiatric Association (APA) announced that Justin Singh, M.B.A., has joined as its new senior vice president of operations, finance, and transformation. As part of a leadership restructuring, Singh will report to the CEO and Medical Director, overseeing many of the daily operations of the association and establishing its technology and innovation agenda. He will also facilitate the roll-out of APA’s newly approved strategic plan, Psychiatry 2030: A Vision For Our Future, which emphasizes three key areas for APA: medical leadership, member success, and organizational strength.
Singh comes to APA with close to 20 years' experience in business and health care innovation. Most recently, he was a senior principal at Roivant Sciences, where he developed new AI health technology products and business ventures. His extensive background in health care innovation ranges from clinical research to care delivery, large academic medical centers to independent private practices, and across therapeutic areas.
“It’s exciting to join APA at this pivotal moment in its history,” said Singh. “The APA is a preeminent organization with some of the world’s most prominent psychiatrists among its members and leadership, and a talented and devoted staff. I look forward to working with this community to move the field forward.”
Singh holds an M.B.A. from Columbia University and a B.S. from the University of Cape Town in South Africa. His background in innovation includes advising some of the world’s leading health care, life sciences, and insurance organizations as a consultant with McKinsey & Company, and more recently developing novel health technology solutions in partnership with academic and industry experts. In a rewarding detour earlier in his career, he helped stage the first FIFA World Cup in Africa.
“Justin brings a new perspective, keen business acumen, and positive energy to the APA,” said APA CEO and Medical Director Marketa M. Wills, M.D., M.B.A. “I’m thrilled to be working with Justin as we begin our transformation into an organization that will carry psychiatry forward for years to come.”
