July is APA Diversity Mental Health Month
Helping psychiatrists and all mental health professionals to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse population
APA Diversity Mental Health Month is a time to:
- Highlight the unique mental health issues of diverse populations
- Focus on efforts to reduce mental health disparities
- Enhance health care professionals' cultural competence
The theme for 2015 is Culturally Appropriate Care, helping psychiatrists and all mental health professionals to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse population.

July is also Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month proclaimed by Congress in 2008 and named in honor the late NAMI advocate and national spokesperson.
