Individual APA members play a key role in the nomination process for national offices in the APA. The Nominating Committee, chaired by Carolyn B. Robinowitz, M.D., looks forward to receiving your suggestions for candidates for the 2009 election for the offices of President-elect, Vice President, and Early Career Psychiatrist Trustee-at-large.

Education & Career Development

The APA provides educational programs and activities to assist psychiatrists at all levels and to keep our members up to date on the latest scientific and clinical developments. From medical school, residency, and beyond these activities are designed to advance clinical and practice management skills and promote quality patient care. Many online CME activities are free for APA members.

Take Action to Support Medicare Coinsurance Parity!
Current Medicare law imposes a 50% coinsurance requirement for any outpatient psychiatric or other mental health services, while a 20% coinsurance applies for any other outpatient services provided under Part B. Your Senators already unanimously supported mental health parity for private insurance plans. Call today and remind them not to leave our seniors behind!

Membership

APA Dues Policy Payment Change! Please note effective with the 2008 dues year, annual membership dues must be paid by October 31st or membership will be dropped. If you have not already done so, please pay your dues immediately or enroll in the Scheduled Payment Plan to have your current APA and District Branch dues automatically charged to your credit card in monthly installments.
