The 2017 APA/APAF All Fellows' Orientation

On September 14, 2017, the third annual APA/APAF All Fellows' Orientation convened all 103 Fellows in Crystal City, Va. The Orientation was in conjunction with the APA September Components Meeting.

2017 Fellows Orientation

Beth Payne, Director of U.S. Department of State's Center of Excellence in Foreign Affairs Resilience, served as keynote speaker. Payne shared insights from the Resilience Leadership training she developed for U.S. Ambassadors and other senior foreign policy professionals. Payne explained how leaders can foster resilience and therefore inspire more innovative, collaborative and adaptive teams.

Fellows also participated in breakout sessions focused on mentorship, advocacy, media, research, education, APA governance, and APA Foundation programs and initiatives and had the opportunity to hear from APA President, Anita Everett, M.D., CEO and Medical Director, Saul Levin, M.D., M.P.A., APA Foundation Executive Director, Daniel H. Gillison, Jr., and DDHE Director Ranna Parekh, M.D., M.P.H.
