Health & Safety Considerations

The safety of everyone attending our Annual Meeting is our priority. To this end, we’re planning to follow industry-wide health and safety standards, as well as the stricter of any requirements from federal, state, and local authorities. APA also reserves the right to require additional precautions prior to and during the in-person event.

  • COVID-19 vaccination: All attendees are strongly encouraged to ensure they are up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations per CDC recommendations prior to the event. APA will not verify proof of vaccination.
  • Self-assessments: Everyone who attends our meeting is expected to do a simple self-assessment for COVID symptoms every day, and if they experience symptoms, they should not attend and instead should follow CDC guidance regarding isolation and other precautions.
  • The Javits Center has implemented measures to enhance the safety of its visitors, including installation of HEPA air filters and accreditation by the Global BioRisk Advisory Council. That program certifies that the facility is implementing the industry’s standards of cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention for infectious agents such as COVID-19 and is the leading standard of prepared facilities.
  • Hand sanitizers will be widely available in public areas of the Javits Center.
  • APA and the Javits Center will have disposable masks available upon request.
