2018 APA Election

Participate in the 2018 APA Election.

Call for nominations!

Submit nominations and letters of recommendation for the 2018 APA National Election to election@psych.org. Please make sure to include the full name of the nominated APA member and the corresponding office(s) for which he/she is being nominated.

The deadline for nominations is October 1.

The following national offices are open for nominations:

  • President-Elect
  • Treasurer
  • Trustee-at-Large
  • ECP (Early Career Psychiatrists) Trustee-at-Large
  • Area 1,4 and 7 Trustees1
  • Resident-Fellow Member Trustee-Elect (RFMTE)2
  1. Elected by eligible voters of their respective Area
  2. Elected by APA Resident-Fellow Members (RFMs)

Voting Information

Paper or electronic balloting is made available to eligible voting members. Voters with a valid email address on file are sent an email with a link to their ballot every week until submitting a ballot. Voters without a valid email address on file are mailed paper ballots with instructions to vote online. Voters may also go onto the APA Homepage to use their member login information to cast their vote for the 2018 APA National Election.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible voters are currently active voting members of the APA not designated as a Medical Student or International Member. Members interested in running for office should review the eligibility requirement.

Election Guidelines

Election Guidelines, developed by the Elections Committee and approved by the Board of Trustees are intended to provide a level playing field for candidates. Campaigning by candidates and supporters begins when the slate of candidates is announced by November 1.
