Mind Games Resident Competition

Mind Games - Get Your Team Ready for 2015

We are pleased to announce that Mind Games 2015 is coming soon! Mind Games is APA’s national residency team competition.  Remember College Bowl?  Do you like Jeopardy?  This competition is intended to be a fun, educational activity that challenges the residents on patient care and medical knowledge.  Your resident team could compete in the finals, and take home the national trophy.

Here is how it works:
A preliminary round will take place the last two weeks of February (Feb. 16-27, 2015).  To prepare for this competition, the Training Director and/or Chair need to select three (3) residents who will form your program team. The selected residents MUST be APA members to qualify. Your team (together) will take a timed online examination - 150 multiple choice questions in 60 minutes. Questions will follow the ABPN Part I content outline. The three highest scoring teams with the fastest posted time will advance to compete in the live national competition.  The winning teams will be announced at the AADPRT meeting in March.

Timeline for 2015:
January 2015 - Register your team with APA by sending an email to MindGames. We need the names of the team members and the email address of the team captain.
February 11, 2015 - Login and password to access the online Qualifying Competition will be sent to training director and team captain.
February 16-27, 2015 – Teams go online and take the exam at one sitting
March 2015 – Three Finalist Teams announced at AADPRT meeting
May 19, 2015 – Mind Games LIVE! event at the APA Annual Meeting in Toronto.
