Deadline to nominate is March 31. The APA Resident Recognition Awards will be presented annually to a psychiatric resident or fellow from each department or institution. Departments are eligible to nominate one APA resident-fellow member who exemplify one or more APA values.
Deadline December 12. This 2-year fellowship provides experiences that will contribute to the professional development of residents who will play future leadership roles within the public sector psychiatry and heighten awareness of the public psychiatry activities and career opportunities.
Deadline December 15. Designed to promote interest among general psychiatry residents in pursuing careers in child and adolescent psychiatry. Fellows will learn about new clinical research, successful treatments for children and adolescents with mental disorders, and many other issues associated with child and adolescent mental health.
Deadline January 30. These fellowships endeavors to eliminate racial and ethnic disparities in mental health and substance abuse care by providing specialized training to psychiatry residents and medical students interested in serving minority communities.
Deadline December 12. The two-year fellowship offers psychiatric residents, with exceptional leadership potential, many different experiences that prepare them for leadership roles. Only the Chair of the Department or the Director of the Training Program can nominate.
This fellowship provides all psychiatry residents, fellows and early career psychiatrists an opportunity to work in a congressional office on federal health policy, particularly policy related to child and/or minority issues.
Deadline Extended to December 15. The colloquium is provides guidance, mentorship and encouragement to young investigators in the early phases of their training. Held during the APA Annual Meeting.
Deadline December 1. This award is for to five psychiatry residents who submit the best, original, unpublished scientific paper in psychiatry.
Deadline Extended to November 17. This fellowship sponsors two post-graduate psychiatry trainees specifically to focus on research and personal scholarship.
Deadline Extended to November 17. The award provides a grant for the research development career of a young investigator based on excellence in research in the field of schizophrenia.
Deadline January 15. This one year fellowship provides mentoring and career enrichment opportunities and travel support to the APA Annual Meeting.
A full day of leadership sessions to help incoming chief residents enhance their self-awareness and learn skills to both be a clinician and leader. Held in conjunction with the APA Annual Meeting.
