APA On Tour

APA’s flagship program to educate communities around the nation about disparities in mental health and to encourage and facilitate collaboration among a community's stakeholders to take action to eliminate mental health disparities. (formerly called OMNA on Tour)


Fellowships

Programs to enhance the training of psychiatry residents dedicated to serving minority and underserved populations and to foster an interest in psychiatry among medical students from diverse groups.


Recognition Awards

Given to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship and achievement toward the mental well-being of minority and underrepresented populations.


Council on Minority Mental Health and Health Equity

APA's council responsible for representing and advocating for populations and psychiatrists from minority and underrepresented groups.


Minority and Underrepresented (MUR) Group Caucuses

MUR caucuses provide a forum for representation, networking and communication among APA members who are American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, Asian-American, Black, Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Hispanic.  There is also a caucus for women and a caucus for international medical graduates). Cultural Competence Curricula


Mental Health and Faith Community Partnership

The Mental Health and Faith Community Partnership is a collaboration between psychiatrists and clergy aimed at fostering a dialogue between two fields, reducing stigma, and accounting for medical and spiritual dimensions as people seek care.
