Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) Code Changes for 2013

The major changes to the CPT codes in effect as of January 1, 2013 in the Psychiatry section of the American Medical Association’s manual on Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) must be used for billing and documentation for all insurers for all services.

We recommend everyone have a copy of the current edition of AMA's CPT manual, updated annually and available through the American Medical Association by phone 800-621-8335 or their online bookstore. 2013 and later versions of the manual contain the newest codes, the earlier versions do not.

If you still have “how to” questions or if you are having issues with reimbursement, let APA know. For Member questions about CPT codes & claims

  • email us at hsf@psych.org or
  • call the HSF Practice Management HelpLine, 800.343.4671.
