Electives and Travel Awards
- Medical Student Elective in HIV - provides opportunities for 4th year medical students to participate in a month-long clinical or research elective in HIV psychiatry at one of several prominent universities across the country
- Minority Student Summer Externship in Addiction Psychiatry - provides opportunities for 10 medical students to spend one month during their summer break working with a mentor at a designated site where they will get a hands-on look at how psychiatrists treat patients and participate in an interactive didactic experiential learning program.
- Minority Medical Student Summer Mentoring Program - this program identifies ethnic minority medical students who have an interest in psychiatric issues and provide experiences to foster this interest. This fellowship would match a medical student with a mentor based on interest of the medical student and the specialty of the mentor, practice setting (i.e. research or clinical) and geographic proximity.
- Minority Medical Student Awards and Scholarships - a summary listing of student awards and travel scholarships for minority medical students. These programs are open to ethnic minority medical students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents currently enrolled in a U.S. medical school. Ethnic minorities are: American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, Asian-American, African American, and Hispanic/Latino.
