District Branch Joint Sponsorship
What is Joint Sponsorship?
The joint sponsorship process allows APA to certify District Branch CME activities for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ (attendance incentive for meetings).
Who is eligible to participate in APA’s Joint Sponsorship Program?
APA offers Joint Sponsorship only to its District Branches.
What are the requirements for Joint Sponsorship?
- A member of the District Branch must commit to serving on the APA Subcommittee on Joint Sponsorship.
- The nominated District Branch member is obligated to attend yearly meetings of the Subcommittee (yearly meeting held during the APA Annual Meeting).
- District Branch members and staff participate on the APA’s behalf in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the CME activity.
- All required information and materials for jointly sponsored programs are submitted to the APA Department of Continuing Medical Education for review.
- Upon completion of a CME activity, the District Branch Program Director and staff submit a Follow-Up Report on the program.
What is the process to obtain Joint Sponsorship with APA?
An application is submitted to APA for participation in the APA joint sponsorship program. The application is reviewed and approved by the APA Committee on CME/Lifelong Learning.
How quickly can we obtain credit for our CME programs?
Generally the application process, from submission to committee approval, takes approximately eight weeks.Once the District Branch application is approved, the District Branch can submit a proposal for joint sponsorship of its next CME activity.
What are the fees for Joint Sponsorship?
The fees are very reasonable; determined strictly by number of hours (no additional per person fee)
1 – 6 credits $250
7 – 12 credits $500
13 – 16 credits $750
